Release Ayrshire

Release was founded in 2018 after a string of heartbreaking suicides in the local area of East Ayrshire - tragically these suicides were all young men. After realizing how little help there was for people in crisis, the charity was created to challenge the stigmas around men’s mental health and set out to completely diminish the typical stereotype that “men don’t cry”. 

Release has our very own SHOUT text code, where not just men but ANYONE struggling mentally - can contact the 24-hour anonymous service totally free of charge, for professional mental health support. We fund and provide a crucial first step chatting platform and offer a safe space for people to speak freely... whether it's from day-to-day worries or full mental health crisis.

Our service guarantees total anonymity, meaning anyone can reach out to us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It also ensures that anyone in crisis, will get a response IMMEDIATELY no matter what time of day it is.
